Introduction: The Data tribe is a key component of the Data department and aims to service all areas of the bank with transversal BI solutions and tools. As a Data Modelling/Datavault Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and deploying standards and guidelines, promoting modelling techniques, providing training sessions and assessing the quality of data models. You will play a crucial role in implementing the bank's big data platform and contributing to spreading the new data governance and “Know your data” culture throughout the bank.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and deploy standard & guidelines to be applied throughout the whole Data team.
- Actively participate in the CoP (Community of Practices).
- Create awareness on Data Modelling and promote modelling techniques that make sense.
- Make technical recommendations for physical implementation.
- Provide training sessions for analysts and assist them daily.
- Assess quality of data models and ensure correct application of rules/guidelines/standards/templates by the Business Intelligence team and their third party suppliers.
- Monitor and report to the application responsible and management on a regular basis about data modelling activity and KYD culture.
- Bachelor/Master's degree in IT or Business engineering or equivalent by professional experience.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in Data Modelling/Datavault.
- Knowledge of DWH data modelling (i.e. Kimball, Inman, datavault).
- Experience in translating customer/functional needs into data design.
- Good understanding of Agile Methodology and project management.
- Knowledge of databases, including Oracle and experience in solution design for Data Hub or Data Lake or a modern Data Warehouse (Streaming based).
- Strong knowledge of modelling tools like PowerDesigner, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, ArchiMate or any other tool on the market.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Quick self-starter with a pro-active attitude and able to work in a dynamic and multi-cultural environment.
- A team player always ready to share, train, or provide support to others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and able to turn advanced technical topics and industry jargon into easy-to-understand information.
- Quality-driven and cost avoidance-minded with the ability to handle changing priorities and deliver results respecting deadlines.
